Lake Taupo Rotary is an amalgamation of the Rotary Clubs of Taupo, Taupo Moana, and Taupo Expresso.
We were chartered in 1995 however the history of Rotary in Taupo goes back to the charter of the Rotary Club of Taupo in 1957.
Lake Taupo Rotary is a vibrant club or around 45 members with a gender balance of approx. 50/50 male to female.As each of the combining Rotary Clubs brought their own projects to the table we have a very busy schedule, we also own our own venue Rotary House.
Our Major Projects are:
Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge 100% owned by Rotary, attracts around 5,000 riders each year.
Charity Golf Tournament held at Wairakei Golf + Sanctuary each year
Fireworks and Laser Extravaganza Held every year at Owen Delany Park Taupo
Lake Taupo Across The lake Swim Held in March each year and attracts around 400 swimmers.
Taupo Community Van Free for community groups to use and almost fully booked year-round.
