During the evening we were entertained by Ms. Katie Trigg, a University of Waikato Sir Edmund Hillary Scholar,
who is completing her Honours year studying a Bachelor of Music, majoring in classical voice.
Bruce Bernie reports, that Katie Trigg has been awarded a two-year music scholarship to the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music, which is based in Philadelphia, USA.

This is one of the most prestigious music schools in the US, if not the world, and its alumni read like a 'Who's Who' in the classical music world - including Leonard Bernstein (composer/conductor), Lang Lang, Yuja Wang, Jeorge Bolet. Shura Cherkasky, Gary Graffman (all pianists) plus other leading musicians from across all genres.

Tonight Katie gave a presentation on her scholarship selection and we all wish her well as she prepares for a couple of fundraising concerts here in Hamilton, before she leaves for the USA in early August
