Change is afoot in the Rotary Friendship Exchange Committee for District 9930.The committee has for many years consisted of Gavin Petrie, Ken Collier and Laurel Smith. They have done a sterling job welcoming Rotary groups from districts around the world to D9930 and organising departing Rotary groups of up to 12 folk to destinations in numerous countries.
The Rotary Friendship Exchange programme is a reciprocal one in which districts in turn host and send groups to overseas districts of interest.
The team of Gavin, Ken and Laurel have now decided to step down from their roles on the committee and a new committee has been established. The new RFE committee for District 9930 is made up of Alan Hitchcock (and his wife Sharon), Christa George and Caroline Lampp. Alan is to be the chairperson and he and Sharon will coordinate incoming groups, Christa is to be the secretary/treasurer and Caroline will coordinate outgoing groups. The new committee will official take over their roles from 1st July 2024.
The first exchange this year will be an incoming group from Wisconsin in the USA. Exciting times ahead!
