Looking for a true kiwi adventure to take Exchange Student Kristine Skafte Eschen from Denmark, I approached Member Ken Hunt, who had spent 12+ years as a DOC Ranger on the Whanganui river, for some advice.Without hesitation, Ken volunteered to assist.
As a result, the Group including Rotarian's Ken Hunt, Carol Charman, Gail Kelly, Geoff Bennett and his wife Alison, Brian Hall & his Brother Keith, plus Kristine gathered in Taumaranui ready to kayak to Pipiriki.

Four days on the river and three nights tenting.Perfect weather and river conditions.
Each canoe managed one involuntary rollover, nicely timed one per day to keep the Group entertained.
Fantastic trip enjoyed by all.
