On the 10th July the six New Zealand District Governors presented Dr Ashley Bloomfield with six Paul Harris Fellowships (PHF+5). Their citation thanked him for his steadiness under fire, his integrity and his authenticity.
Each Governor spoke, providing some background or connection about this PHF and Rotary, particularly in relation to key centennial projects in two of Rotary’s areas of focus – Disease Prevention and Treatment, and Maternal and Child Health.
District 9930 Governor, Grant Spackman gave Dr Bloomfield some background on the Give Every Child A Future project, especially on how it is benefitting the Covid vaccination rollout in the Pacific Islands.
Dr Bloomfield now joins his counterpart in the United States, Dr Fauci, in receiving a PHF.
