The students become adopted members of a Georgia ‘host family’, living on-campus at the school they attend. This is an ambassadorial scholarship programme, not a student exchange.
Each year, students from all over the world make friends in the United States and other nations and learn about different cultures and lifestyles. Georgia Rotarians believe “Peace is Possible” and through GRSP promote international goodwill through friendship and understanding.
The link below will guide students from District 9930 through the application process. Applicants will need to fund return travel to Georgia, USA, medical insurance, an estimated minimum $4000 spending money, and any income taxes imposed by the college or university on the scholarship money.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be 18 years but not 25 years of age by 1st August of the year studies begin
- Has not previously studied in the USA for a period of more than four months
- Must be single and will not cohabitate in any way for the duration of the scholarship
- Must be an undergraduate student
- Must meet minimum GPA requirements for the school selected to attend
- Must complete the required SAT Reasoning Test. It is strongly recommended that applicants have their results available BEFORE submitting an application to GRSP
- Rotary District 9930 applicants must be sponsored by a Rotary Club (clubs are not required to provide any funding) and be approved by the GRSP coordinator before making their application to GRSP
There is no financial obligation upon the sponsoring Rotary club.
