Rotary Cambridge
12 Ihimaera Terrace
I was born in Gisborne and bought up in Herbertville which is the southern boundary of District 9930.
I did my secondary schooling at Feilding Ag.
After a brief stint at Massey University, I worked in the agricultural industry both in Australia and England. Then I became involved in the tourist sector driving tour buses in Europe for 4 years.
Returning to New Zealand in 1982, I went farming again, moving from Herbertville to Wimbledon, to Castlepoint, to Mount Bruce and finally the Waikato. I spent 21 years managing a deer stud outside of Cambridge before retiring in 2019.
My Rotary involvement started when our youngest daughter went on the student exchange to Australia in 2002. In the following years, she did RYLA plus we hosted an international student from Norway.
It was payback time so I joined Rotary Cambridge in 2006.
I was president in 2011/12 plus have held directorships in Cambridge.
I have been on the District RYLA committee since 2007 and been co-chair since 2008. I was awarded a PHF from District in 2015 for my services to RYLA.
I’m married to Deb, we live in Cambridge, and we have two daughters, Louise lives in London and Wendy in Mangawhai.
I enjoy playing golf and Bridge.
