Our Club, chartered in 1954, is one of 35,000 Clubs worldwide with a total membership of 1.2 million men and women.

Rotarians often describe themselves as people who like to contribute to the well being of their community and have fun and fellowship while engaging in it.

Our members enjoy the camaraderie of weekly meetings, usually with a guest speaker.

  • The Club currently supports youth projects such as Rotary Youth Leadership, Peer Support Programmes, Overseas Exchanges and Summer Science Schools.
  • The Club has engaged in projects to supply items such as milk powder, clothes, machinery, hand and electric tools, school books and water tanks to Fiji, Tonga and the Solomon Islands.
  • Major local projects have included the Raglan Fishing Contest, Rotoart Exhibition, Fit for Life Relay, Vocational Excellence Award and the Gallagher Rotary Trades Award Evening.
  • Our community outreach continues to focus on youth support, the Mayor’s annual address, the Trades Awards Night, support of community appeals and community projects as they arise.

Our club members carry out their commitment to “SERVICE ABOVE SELF”  through a wide range of programmes, and through individual service and financial support.

Some of these programmes include:

  • Tools Drive for Solomon Island,
  • Annual Speech contest for Frankton Primary School,
  • Monthly award of Rotary Certificate to Frankton Primary School students
  • Annual Trevor Church Scholarship to Maeroa Intermediate School,
  • Annual Trades Night recognizing employees of our major sponsors,
  • Annual Cultural Night, Fund raising for under privileged children in India

Street collections and support work of 600-800 man-hours voluntary work.

Our members assist other clubs throughout the district with projects within their communities and contribute to Rotary’s global efforts.
