Speaker Sammie had us captivated with tales and photos of her long Covid lockdown.It started with a trip to hand over her spot on a yacht but turned into 102 days of 9 adults on the 50m sailboat as the Covid-19 lockdown started 3 days after her arrival.
Tight lockdown in Majorca, offenders got fines or prison. Went to Barcelona when Majorca relaxed, but found Barcelona was still locked down.
Stayed in Barcelona for a month, then back to Majorca for 3 weeks, then finally managed to get a flight to Auckland via Madrid & Dubai.
Lined up upon arrival for temperature taking and questions, then loaded on buses to the hotel – had to pick the menu for 2 weeks while still jetlagged. Nice room - big bed, TV, bath, shower, scheduled walks. Security increased on her day 3 when the 3rd person tried to escape NZ controlled isolation.
Tested negative days 3 & 12, and was released at the end of the two weeks.
