This year funds will be used to support the Hawke’s Bay Community Fitness Centre Trust in delivering their programme to local youth communities, especially those focused on schools.This will build around education and change behavior around nutrition and physical activity. The Trust will introduce the internationally-acclaimed programmes of AUT and the AUT Millennium Facility in Auckland. The work is being supported by the Hawke’s Bay District Health Board, EIT and Sport Hawke’s Bay.
The centre will be based at the Hawke’s Bay Regional Sports Park and is being developed under the guidance of Sir Graeme Avery. Additional facilities are being developed at the Sports Park to enable the Community Fitness Centre Trust to operate.
