Books to the Solomon Islands.

Thanks to Bob McCaw for his negotiations with the Customs Dept in the Solomons who were proving difficult about releasing the school books which are desperately needed in the schools of the islands.

At one stage he was asked to alter the invoice detailing the goods changing the description of the books from “second-hand primary school books” to “second-hand USED primary school books”!
However best to go along with it to finally get the books released to Margaret Talasasa (Manager, National Library Services)

Margaret wrote that the books are all in good condition and they will send us photos of books in the hands of students when they get the books to schools.

She passed her thanks to all who contributed to the collection of the books the children of the Solomon Islands.
