During the last few weeks, hundreds of people in the Philippines have lost their lives, their loved ones and their homes in a Tropical Storm which has wrecked havoc on many Filipino families.

ShelterBox continues with its work ensuring that no family is left without shelter. The work of ShelterBox is only made possible because of the charitable support from donors.

As we enter 2018, we wish to thank everyone who has supported our lifesaving work throughout this past year. The New Year will bring us a new set of challenges to face, but together, we can and will make a real difference to families in need across the World!

'Tropical Storms Tembin & Kai Tak hit the Philippines'
In early December, Kai-tak plummeted two months of rainfall in just 48 hours, triggering severe flooding. Then - less than a week later - Tembin rolled in with gusting winds of up to 110 km per hour, flash flooding and mudslides.

Both storms have tragically taken the lives of 240 people, with an estimated 145 people still missing, and have displaced over 585,000 people.

ShelterBox deployed a team to the Philippines who are working with local partners to help vulnerable families. We're providing a mix of ShelterBoxes, ShelterKits and other essential items based on each family's need.

You are the reason we can respond to these disasters. You are the reason we can provide hope during the bleakest of days. Please donate today.

'Syria - more Refugees'
An assault on the last Syrian province under rebel control could spark a new wave of displacement.

ShelterBox is in contact with our partners on the ground in Syria to make preparations to help these people.

'ShelterBox Needs Club Champions'

It is incredibly simple to become a Club Champion and once you join, you will receive access to webinars, ShelterBox updates and key information during major disasters which you can share with your Rotary Club members. Champions aim to deliver increased awareness about ShelterBox within their Club and act as the main point-of-contact between the Club, ShelterBox New Zealand and our local Ambassadors and volunteers.

Our goal is to have a Club Champion in every Rotary Club across the country, does your club have a champion yet!?

If you are interested in joining the ShelterBox New Zealand volunteer team, or would like a speaker to make a presentation to your Rotary Club, please email us at:  support@shelterbox.org.nz
