Our club weeded the Ohiwa Harbourside Trail.

There were 27 helpers. 12 club members and the rest were community and Interact members. Janie adds that Rotarians, Interactors, and two locals arrived at the reserve between the Port Ohope Store and the Ohope Wharf to spend a couple of hours freeing the plantings on the reserve from the kikuyu grass.

The Rotary presence was well advertised with the gazebo put up at the top of the hill for all to see and lots of vests with the symbol on them. There were also plenty of bottles of water and packets of biscuits to keep the energy levels up. Katie Elliott and Linda Bonne brought about 10 kids from the Trident and Whakatane High Interact Clubs.
