This week’s guest speaker was our new member, David Clapperton.
The meeting was conducted via Zoom. David comes from humble background being one of 16 children and having 60 cousins.
He has returned to Hawke’s Bay recently to take up the role of Chief Executive Officer at Eastern and Central Community Trust.
David talked about his educational background. He has BCa in business administration. He has significant private sector experience where he was General Manager of Sales and Marketing for Farmers Mutual Group for several years and has also held various marketing and accounting roles prior to that.
In 2013, David was appointed Chief Executive of Horowhenua District Council, following seven years as Strategic and Corporate Services Manager. He shared some of his experiences with the club from China and Mongolia.
