Earlier this month Rotary Club of Kawerau recognised all that Mavis Keightley has given of Service
above Herself to our community by awarding her with a Paul Harris Fellowship.
Mavis has been a volunteer, musician and Trust Board Member, tea lady and carer, a van driver for
residents outing, all for Mountain View Rest Home/Hospital for over 30 years. She is also involved in
the setting up of their Menz Shed, fundraising and being a carer for The Alzheimer’s Society; as well
as a support group leader, driver, and fund raiser for Blind Low Vision NZ.
Our Mayor Faylene Tunui came to the evening too to thank Mavis for all that she has done for the
betterment and growth of the community of Kawerau.
As well as Mavis receiving this well-deserved recognition, $1000US has been donated in her name to
the Rotary International program to eliminate Polio from the world.
