President Bev welcomed the Days for Girls ladies

Led by Anne, with Deb and Sue in support, the ladies gave a detailed background of the group and its objectives in providing re-usable sanitary hygiene packages to girls and women in third world countries to enable them to participate fully in their communities without losing time in their menstrual cycles – to quote Anne “giving them back their days”.

The group has grown from humble beginnings to now number 30 and has now completed 4,536 shields and more than 500 liners.

Members were given a rundown on the various contents of the packages.
The programme has been impacted by Covid, effectively suspending overseas despatch of packages, but work is continuing. Anne acknowledged the support received locally from our Club and the Rotary Club of Matamata.

With typical male insights, Brian Palmer thanked the ladies for their informative presentation.
