Clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education are basic necessities for a healthy environment and a productive life.

When people have access to clean water and sanitation, waterborne diseases decrease, children, stay healthier and attend school more regularly, and mothers can spend less time carrying water and more time helping their families.

Through water and hygiene programs, Rotary’s people of action mobilize resources,  partnerships, and invest in infrastructure and training that yield long-term change.
Rotary invests in building the thought leadership of tomorrow through scholarships for professionals in the water, sanitation, and hygiene.

"My experience as a global grant scholar gave me the opportunities to access the amazing skillsets and networks needed to be in the positions that I am working in today to ultimately help drive the tipping point of change for this sector (WASH) so that universal access to safe and hygienic toilets are a functioning reality for everyone everywhere." — Jasmine Burton, founder of Wish for WASH and Master of Science in public health student at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
