Greetings,

Another month has zoomed past since my last report and with a third of this Rotary year already behind us, it’s great to see the progress of many clubs in their drive to achieve goals set for the year.  During the last month, we’ve traveled to many parts of the District and have given presentations to a further 20 clubs.  We enter November with only 8 clubs left to present to.  These clubs will be visited at a leisurely pace over the first 3 weeks of the month.

We continue to be very impressed and congratulate Rotarians for the many good initiatives of your clubs and the various ways you are doing good in both your communities and further afield.  A collection of a few memorable occasions from the last month are:

Arch Klumph’s idea for an endowment fund dedicated to “doing good in the world” planted the seed of The Rotary Foundation in 1917.

Thanks to his vision and staunch advocacy, and the extraordinary generosity of Rotary members worldwide, that fund has become one of the world’s leading humanitarian foundations

Learn about the people and events that have made our Foundation a powerful force for good.

The major project for our club is running the Saturday morning market in Kuirau Park. All proceeds raised from this market are put back into the community. Over $500,000 raised to date!

The market is the major fundraiser for our Club and operates every Saturday morning, wet or fine. The only exception is that it is not held on Christmas Day or Anzac Day. Open from 6:00am to 1:00pm, all weather.

Members of the Rotary Club of Montego Bay, Jamaica, identified a need in their community and wanted to do something about it, but they lacked the funds to tackle the problem on their own. Read about their use of Rotary Ideas to raise funds for the project, which ultimately led to a global grant to provide 11 schools and a children's home with proper indoor bathroom facilities and drinking water.

A forlorn, tired but happy group of Rotarians and spouses bit au revoir to Canada, and Saint Pierre,

We all had a fabulous trip to Nova Scotia with a group of twelve from our district spending fifteen days visiting six supporting clubs with their hosts for three to four days each. Whilst in Canada we visited South Shore of Nova Scotia, Mahone Bay/Lunenburg/Coastal Villages, Annapolis Valley, Kentville area, Cape Breton Island, Halifax, St-Pierre, and Miquelon. See us on Facebook here

So to all our new friends in District 7820 in sunny (yes sunny) Canada.

Au devoir mess amis 😅😅
