The Rotary Club of Napier was delighted to welcome Megan Thomassen-Clarke and Bronwyn Harman from the Hawke’s Bay Women’s Refuge and present them with a cheque for $25,000, the proceeds from the Mission Estates Concert collections earlier this year.
The cheque was presented by District Governor Grant Spackman and President Jacqui. Megan thanked the club for the generous donation and said it would be put to good use. Last year over 100 women and their children came to the Women’s Refuge seeking help. The charity helps families to live free from domestic violence. They provide free programmes to help families develop healthy relationships and coping strategies.
Megan said the money would go a very long way towards helping these women live violent free lives.
