It’s hard to believe that two years have passed since in-person exchanges were suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since then, thousands of students have participated in engaging virtual exchanges, and club and district leaders have maintained their commitment to the program. Many districts are now preparing to resume in-person exchanges in 2022-23.
District 9930 is excited about this international development and wishes these exchanges all the best. New Zealand is not yet in a position to recommence exchanges but is working to receive overseas exchange students again from mid-2023. For Kiwi students looking to the future, we will be sending out exchange students again in January 2024 with applications being accepted from early 2023.

As the new Rotary year approaches, you may want to reacquaint yourself with the program. A variety of resources are available:
  • Visit the Rotary Youth Exchange page to learn more about the program and how to get involved.
  • Contact a local Rotary or Rotaract club to see what exchange or volunteer opportunities are available.
Review our new Youth Protection page, which includes a way to report a youth protection issue, because the safety and well-being of participants is our highest priority.
