Over 145 Rotarians and friends joined to see the Hawke's Bay premier of The Duke.
The venue was the Reading Cinema, Napier and the movie was very well received.
Set in 1961, it follows the story of Kempton Bunton, a 60-year old taxi driver, who stole Goya's portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery in London. It was the first and remains the only, theft in the Gallery's history.
The evening raised $2,243 for the elimination of polio worldwide. Proceeds will be forwarded to the District 9930 Rotary Foundation in the name of all the Rotary clubs in Hastings and Napier.
