The Rotary Club of Whangaparaoa invites expressions of interest from Rotary clubs, for the purchase of a 40-foot container containing all the equipment to run the All American Soapbox Derby. The event was started in the Auckland region by the North Shore City Council in 2002, then handed over to the Rotary clubs of Northcote , East Auckland, Waitakere, SunriseWhangarei, Whangaparaoa, Christchurch and Cambridge.
The container comprises of at least 14 completely made up Super Stock trolleys, spare parts to build up more, a Masters trolley, 2 x corporate trolleys (used for fun adult races) and 2 x super kids trolleys (used to take children with disabilities who would otherwise be unable to participate for rides), street signage, starting ramps, track control traffic lights and spare parts.
