As you may know, Mercy Ships and Rotary have had a warm association over many years.

We value this partnership and want to make you aware that Mercy Ships has a group of competent speakers available to provide an inspiring presentation at Rotary gatherings. We have a very interesting and informative story of Kiwi volunteers who give their time to serve on the Mercy Ships hospital vessels.

There may be friends and family of Rotarians who could serve in a number of volunteer capacities on our two ships based in Africa. Last year’s record-breaking Rotary Grant towards deploying our new hospital ship has been vital in our growing work, providing free essential surgery to Africa’s underserved poor.

The new vessel Global Mercy is currently being outfitted for service, and Rotary Clubs in the United Kingdom and Morrinsville NZ have donated to see these projects completed. A recent article in the Rotary Down Under magazine explains more and focuses on a past President from Feilding who volunteered on board with her husband.

If you would like to have someone from Mercy Ships speak at your Rotary meeting, please call or email me. If you could pass this offer on to other Rotary Club Presidents in your District, I would be most grateful.
