'THE CHILDREN OF SYRIA NEED HELP'

After fleeing unspeakable violence, families in Syria face a new danger.
Often arriving in emergency camps with nothing but the clothes on their back, they are totally unprotected from the harsh winter temperatures. Warm blankets could make all the difference.
A complete winter warmth bundle has everything a large family needs to survive the cold - from mattresses to a kitchen set for cooking warm food. It also includes insulated baby sleepsuits, sets of children’s thermal underwear, and children's jeans and jumpers.
Please don’t wait. Give a winter warmth bundle today.

'KUNYUMBA - A STORY OF HOME'

At ShelterBox we believe that every family deserves a place to call home after disaster or conflict.
In March Cyclone Idai hit southern Africa, washing away entire villages like Mwalija in Malawi. We returned to understand what their recovery process has been like. We wanted to capture the community's story – not our story – in their own words.
We met families who spent 24 hours in the water waiting for help. Terrified for their lives, Mary and Stephano put their children in the trees for safety as they watched their home get washed away. Their story of what happened next reflects the challenges faced by many families in Mwalija, and it’s their voices that tell the community’s story in our film, Kunyumba.
We can't claim responsibility for the recovery of communities, that credit can only be given to the families who work so hard to rebuild. But, with your support, we can play an important part in those first steps to recovery. A relatively small gesture – like giving a tent or a tarpaulin – can help communities shift their focus from “the now” and look towards “the tomorrow”.
