Traffic Control at the National Elite Cycling Races Club members on traffic control.

On the 7th and 8th Jan a group of Club members helped out with traffic control of the National Elite Cycling races.

Club volunteers answered Rob Pattullo’s call the help Ivan Aplin and local cycling clubs with this work.

Bob McCaw and Hanlie Marnewick drew the Kipling Avenue control point beside Napier Central Primary, an interesting spot as it seemed to be the only route for motorists wanting to get from town to Ahuriri and north.

Fortunately a cycling club member turned up to assist, and with his two-way radio was able to know when there were gaps in the cycling field, and it was safe to let the cats through.

Fun couple of days.
