Disasters don't stop for Christmas or the holidays, neither will we.

From the recent distributions of emergency winterized kits in Syria to the deployments of thousands of Shelter Kits in Haiti following Hurricane Matthew, we are relentless in our pursuit of providing lifesaving shelter.

The work of ShelterBox is only made possible because of private charitable support from our donors.

So, as we enter 2017, we wish to thank everyone who has supported our lifesaving work throughout 2016. The New Year will bring us a new set of challenges to face but together we can make a real difference to families in need.

Thank you so much!

'WINTER CLOTHING ARRIVES IN ALEPPO'

The fighting in and around Aleppo that has been broadcast in recent weeks is indicative of the intolerable position that people are in throughout Syria.

Thanks to the support of our generous supporters, we have been able to support people as they are evacuated from the city with items such as clothing and bedding items to shelter them from the cold winter conditions. This would not be possible without the presence of our partners Hand in Hand for Syria يدا بيد لنبني سوريا and ReliefAid, whose staff share the same fatal risks as the people they are trying to help.

'SHELTER IS SO MUCH MORE THAN A ROOF'

Shelter is more than just a roof – it’s a home. It’s the foundation for life, for families, for communities.

Since ShelterBox began in 2000, your support has helped us provide shelter for more than 1 million people. A million people who not only have protection from the elements but a place to call home. Thank you.

'APPLICATIONS CLOSE - SUNDAY, 22nd JANUARY 2017'

Do you have the skills, personality and compassion to help us carry out our work? This is an exciting time at ShelterBox as we grow our reach and the impact of our work.

For this role we look to recruit volunteers who can commit long-term. Due to the needs of the charity and the cost to train our response teams, we hope that our volunteers are available to help ShelterBox for a period of five years by deploying twice each year for 3 weeks at a time.
