Keeping blood pressure at a healthy level is one of the most important things that people can do to reduce their risk of stroke
The blood pressure campaign is co-ordinated by the Stroke Foundation, partnering with Rotary, St John Ambulance, and the Foodstuffs supermarkets in our district. Rotary secures the check sites and manages hand-outs and the paperwork, St John carries out the blood pressure testing, and Foodstuffs provide the testing sites.
The testing is usually confined to a specific day and last year approx. 19,000 people participated. For Rotary this is an opportunity to integrate with the Stroke Foundation and its partners to raise awareness of the risks of stroke and how to deal with them.
