June is Fellowship Month

Fellowship is such an important part of Rotary and why we often go to our Rotary meetings and are able to achieve such great things.

There are so many benefits for Rotarians in joining the Rotary Fellowships.  Throughout my term as District Governor I have seen how Fellowship works and how many can achieve so much more than a few and how people from all backgrounds band together to achieve great things.  The biggest demonstration of this was seen in the recent Floods and the immediate responses from many Rotary Clubs across both NZ, Australia and Internationally.  Without Fellowship it is unlikely that our District could have raised the almost $300,000 which is now being distributed back into the affected areas and which hopefully will provide much relief for those that have been devastated by this event.

Fellowship is the key to providing the incentive for new members and developing that sense of pride for Rotary and what we can achieve.

Our recent District Conference in Te Kuiti also provided us with another example of Fellowship.  All of the Conference participants I hope gained as much from the Fellowship as they did from the Conference speakers.

Without Fellowship we are just a group of individuals but with Fellowship we are a group of friends with common goals achieving great things for our Community, District, Country and further afield.

Fellowship is the keystone to Rotary.
