How time has flown!! I am pleased to report that I have now completed my 50 Club visits and what a wonderful experience it has been. I am proud of everyone of the clubs I have visited.
It is already December and most of us will be looking forward to the festivities of the season and those of us working are looking forward to the time we can close the doors to our businesses and start to concentrate on some relaxation and restoring our reserves for what will no doubt be another busy year in 2023.
Christmas is a time of joy, spending time with family and friends and sharing food, laughter and fun.  Dianne and my Christmas wish is that everyone has a fabulous time and that in the New Year we start thinking about how we can better provide for our communities through Rotary.
December is also the month that we need to remind ourselves that we are more fortunate than others who are suffering from disease.
Disease Prevention and Treatment is one of the Rotary Foundations seven areas of focus.  It has never been so important for us to be involved in this area of focus in the wake of the COVID Pandemic and the many respiratory and other diseases that seem to have also found their way into our everyday lives following the Pandemic.  We must continue to undertake our role in promoting health and wellbeing at home and elsewhere and support the efforts of the vital projects Globally that attempt to keep healthy our communities here and abroad.
By preventing disease and providing treatment for it Rotary can achieve so much.  There are already some fantastic Rotary projects Globally which we can support from our Polio immunisation programme to improving drinking water and sanitation in our poorer countries.  A contribution to these projects is not always monetary as we have many active Rotarians who are able to provide their skill and initiative to build improved infrastructures within the needy communities.  Rotary truly is an organisation of action and I encourage you all to look at how you can help to support this months area of focus.
Finally I hope that over the festive month you will take the time to register for our up and coming Rotary Conference on the weekend of 21-23 April 2023.  I look forward to seeing you all there.
