Thank you Gavin! District 9930 Internet Pioneer

The new Rotary South Pacific zone website (www.rotaryoceania.zone) has been launched. This new site marks the end of an era for the old multi-district website that served as our district web-presence for over 12 years.

The closure of the old multi-district site cannot transpire without recognising the huge contribution of Rotarian Gavin Petrie (Fairfield) who was a pioneer in bringing our district into the world of internet technology.

For over a decade Gavin tirelessly served as our district webmaster, promoting its use, managing the database and district communications, and assisting clubs and district leaders in using the site as an effective tool.

This often required Gavin to overcome, or live with, a range of technical and design limitations in the old website platform. His dedication and untold hours of service, always quietly in the background, is greatly appreciated.

Gavin continues to be part of the D9930website team as the Communications Manager. Thank You, Gavin, for your contribution to Rotary’s growth in the world of internet technology and for your continuing service to our district.
