When did anyone in your club last look at the road signs that direct both members of the public and Rotary members from out of town, to your club?

Please take a look – you may find as one club did recently that they were sharing a sign board with a Lions Club which had closed a year before and Jaycees and I hate to say how long it is since there was one of those in this town.

Not only that, their own sign hadn’t been given a coat of paint for many years.

There are two ways to go with this situation and both of them are easy. The easiest one is to simply paint the old wheel in the modern single colour and have a sign-writer get the venue board refurbished. There is only one colour on the wheel now – there is no longer a royal blue insert as there use to be.

The colour is Rotary Gold and the various different Formula Codes are:
PMS130C = C0  M41  Y100  K0
PMS129U = C0  M35  Y100  K0
Hex #7a81b = R247  G168  B27
The Hex (often called RGB) is the most common of these but your paint supplier will know which to choose.

The other option (and the preferred option) if you do have the room is to go with the Rotary Brand, however be a bit careful where you place it.

A main-road situation is probably not the best as it could be too busy to read while driving. If you are considering this and there’s more than one Rotary Club in your town, then consider making a statement sign assuming you have somewhere really visible where people are walking, to place it.

Have a look at what Lower Hutt has done.
