Rotorua's Tulip Festival
The combined Rotary clubs have agreed to manage/support the planting of tulip bulbs around the community to promote community engagement in the 2016 Tulip Festival week from 1 October 2016.
What will be involved?
One Saturday and one week-day later in May, when Rotarians and supporters help community groups, school children etc to plant tulips in gardens. (Bulbs will be provided by RLC).
We will also require trailers, spades, planting skills.
All the gardens will have a sign inserted saying that the garden was created especially for the festival and including reference to Rotary involvement!
Rotary will be a seen as a key sponsor and publicity of the project will be publicity for our clubs and Rotary.
It is hoped that everyone will watch their bulbs flourish through the winter/spring and be amazed when they flower exactly on the due date.
This is a good old style hands-on project for us that will require good numbers mucking in please.
