Ian Wilmot addressed the gathering on the work of the Rescue Helicopter Trust and its major role in fundraising to provide a free 24/7 service to the community of HB. The service costs $2.5 million per year to run, half of which is funded by the DHB, ACC and Ministry of Health for provision of service.

$1.3 million is raised through the very generous sponsorship of HB corporates and individuals and the various fundraising events held throughout the year.

Laura Hyde followed up with the upcoming fundraising events including the Charity Golf Tournament at Hill Country Estate on Friday March 10th, the Air NZ HB Marathon on Saturday May 13th and the Westpac Chopper Appeal which HB benefits from on Friday 5th May.

Volunteers are always welcome to assist at any of these events.
President Richard concluded the meeting by presenting Ian and the HB Rescue Helicopter Trust a donation for $1000.00 which was very warmly received.
