On Friday, July 28th Megan Otukolo gave the following thank you speech to Tauranga Rotary Sunrise.

I am proud and gifted for this opportunity and the love that our heavenly father has brought upon me. I am so thankful for people like you all – because chances and opportunities like this are really rare back in Tonga.

It all started when I was 11 and I had somewhat disabled my hip because I fell. I don’t know how to thank you all because I have had two surgeries and in the first surgery I feel like I have been played.

Following that surgery, I feel a lot of pain.

It now feels good. It feels great and I can tell you now I don’t feel any pain. I feel complete at the same time.

You all are really experienced and blessed people. I can tell you this for sure that I came to New Zealand with confidence and faith knowing I was going to be in good hands. Now my surgery is successful I am proud to say you guys and ladies give me more confidence and faith. I feel so good now. Really I thank you. I thank you all for your hospitality and showing us to new places.

This was one of the best moments of my life. Thank you all.
