Outward Bound
J R McKenzie Youth Mind Body Soul Outward Bound Course.
Seven Rotary Clubs made nominations for the 3 Scholarships available and the recommendations of D9930 Selection Committee have been accepted by Outward Bound for the following two girls, one boy to attend the Course from 4th to 24th July 2016.
They are Tahl Southwick nominated by Stortford Lodge, Ashleigh-Rose Moek by Havelock North, and Cody Hill by Te Aroha. Our grateful thanks to all the Clubs for proposing very worthy candidates. An additional scholarship was awarded to Jeremy Cleland (Hamilton) making 4 young people from D9930.
It is not an easy task to narrow down the choice to three young people who are deserving and who are believed will receive the greatest benefit. All nomination documents are forwarded to Outward Bound as often in the past, some young people have been assisted with fundraising to attend a later Mind Body Soul Course.
In addition, one more Scholarship was allocated to D9930 as another Rotary District couldn’t come up with a suitable candidate. Outward Bound chose one of our “back-up” recommendations and Jeremy Cleland, nominated by Hamilton, will also be attending the Course.
