Another very successful and enjoyable function with four representatives from Youthquest Hawkes Bay (the recipients of the Community Grant which will be used to purchase a new van), along with representatives from most of the Art-x sponsors and Jonathon Bell from the Eastern & Central Community Trust who has also made a significant contribution of $18,000 towards the cost of the van.
Immediate Past President Chris Price made the presentation of the Greenmeadows Rotary Club’s cheque for $20,000 to Lauren Hibbard chair of Youthquest HB. Lauren thanked Greenmeadows Rotary and Eastern & Central Community Trust for their generosity which will allow Youthquest to replace their aging van, an essential item for running their programmes.

They outlined their programme which involves six weeks of intensive training based at Camp David followed by 12 months of mentoring including arranging vocation course with local institutions and work experience to provide a taste of what could be.
Casey, a graduate of the programme, explained how it turned his life around and he was now involved ,as an instructor.
