98% say "YES" to alternative theme logo
Several weeks ago the theme for the 2016-17 Rotary year was announced. It has a great message – Rotary Serving Humanity. However, the official logo for this theme was based on a globe which focused only on North American.
Considering that Rotary is a global organisation, Maketu Rotarian, David Campbell, created a version that reflects Rotarians serving humanity in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. This alternative version appeared for a few weeks on this website with an on-line survey to see what people thought. The response was definitive!!
At first the responses came mostly from District 9930 Rotarians (after all the story was on this website). Then they started to come in from Australia (Victoria, NSW, Tasmania, & Queensland). And then responses arrived from Malaysia, Brazil, the USA, Denmark, Belgium, Italy, and even the tiny British Virgin Islands. 98% said they preferred either the South Pacific version or a version that reflected their region of the world.
The survey is still open. If you haven’t already responded, CLICK HERE to cast your vote. And, if you want a copy of the alternative South Pacific version for use by your club you’ll find it in the Graphics Library in the TOOLS area of this website.
